Time is flying!! Our little ladies are now 6 months old. Half a year - WOW!! They are growing like weeds and doing new things almost daily. They are so giggly and vocal and squirmy! They are in bed by 7pm and usually sleep until 5am. There might be one wake up each night for a bottle or to stick the soother back in. At 5am they'll get a bum change and a bottle then back to bed until 6 or 7am. I can't complain.
At their 6 month check up Abbey weighed in at 13lb6oz and Aida 15lb1oz. Abber is still closing the gap.
They have started solids and have taken a liking to peas, carrots and squash. They dislike bananas and cream corn. We just started chicken but they don't seem to like it much. I have to mix it with carrots so they'll eat it - sneaky mom!
They are rolling from their tummy's to their backs and can squirm across the room on their backs. They grab toys easily and now get a hold of my glasses, hair, spoons, the strings on my hoody - basically anything they can get their hands on.
Our house is getting LOUD! They babble and babble and babble. They scream in delight and it's mighty high pitched!
They look at one another, hold hands, steal toys from one another (and each other's soothers), they grab each others ears, noses, toes, etc.
They love to sit up big and are sooo close to grabbing their toys. The Jumperoo remains a favourite but we have retired the swing and glider as they don't do the trick anymore.
Since the weather has turned warm we go out for walks almost daily. We'll walk down to Broadway and get a coffee, go down to the river, go to the park (they've even tried the swing and the slide with their daddy).
I have joined a group at the field house called "Walk and Stroller" where the first half an hour is walking for the cardio portion then the second half is muscle sculpt. Owww, owww, is all I can say. I am very out of shape and sure do hurt the day after the class. But I guess that means it's working, right? I'm sure it'll get easier and easier. The girls enjoy it and are fascinated by the other babies there.
They are turning into lovely little ladies and fall more and more in love with them as every day goes by!
