Abbey Crawling

Or whatever you want to call it. All I know is she gets where she wants to go...fast! She can crawl the "proper" way but I think she finds it takes too much thinking and coordination so when she need to beat her sister to a toy, she kicks it into army crawling gear!

First Camping Trip

Once again, we headed up to Waskesiu for a weekend of camping. We had planned this in advance and borrowed Grandpa and Grandma G's trailer. You sure need lots of stuff to camp with 2 babies!! The weather was cool and cloudy but atleast it didn't rain. Grandpa and Grandma H were camping up there too, in their BIG RV. We did some bike riding, swinging at the beach, went for walks, watch dad take a swim in the chilly water, and had camp fires. It was pretty cramped in the trailer but we made it work and it was a good time. Next year will be a bit easier as we won't have to set up 2 play yards for the girls.

We're SO spoiled

Grandpa and Grandma H bought the girls a double wagon and they just love it. We think its the freedom. They are only strapped across their waist not like their other strollers where they are totally strapped in. They get the breeze in their little blonde hairs. Abbey loved it right away, Aida had to practice a bit before she smiled during the ride.

A Trip to the Park

Yesterday Chris and I took the girls to the park for a swing, but the park we went to only has one baby swing. So, we made due and got creative! It'll be fun when the girls can enjoy everything at the park and go down the slides and stuff. Nonetheless, we had a good time with them and they discovered sand, which they didnt' really like.

Something I taught her (she's such a copy cat!!)

More and more and more...

They continue to look more and more alike as Abbey catches up. We still don't get them mixed up too often as we're the mommy and daddy and it's our job to know who's who. They have such different personalities as well.

Abbey loves to smile, she'll smile at anyone! Plus she has a grin where she doesn't show her little teeth and it's sooo adorable. She's coy and has a shy side. She loves to give kisses and is a curious little thing. She's content to lay on the blanket and play with a string. She's very observant and scared of things she's not sure of (like the car wash or the pool).

Aida is a go getter. She needs to move and explore. She can't quite crawl yet but manages to shimmy everywhere. Yesterday she managed to get from her room to our room as I turned to get Abbey. She's quick! She's curious as well but she will go and figure something out with no fear. She's learning things very fast...today moved from the crawling position on all fours into a sitting position. She was VERY proud of herself when I clapped and said "yaaaah". She needs a lot of attention and someone to play with her. She's more leary of strangers and you have to work hard to get a smile outta her.

9 Months Already??

Where has the time gone? I can hardly believe our babies are 9 months old already! The girls went for their check up and Abbey now weighs 15lbs 14oz and Aida is 17lb. Abbey is in the 10% and Aida in the 25%. Smaller but darn cute babies!!

Here is a 9 month picture of the girls wearing their cute l'il flip flops. I have to distract them so they forget they are wearing them. Hee hee.

Happy Canada Day!!

We had a wonderful Canada Day spend outside on a beautiful day with some friends and the BBQ! The girls had a blast and enjoyed the visitors and playing outside. They pooped out early and were asleep by 6:30pm!

Cool Invention

Since we've had babies we've gotten to use a lot things that other parents say didn't even exist when they had their babies. One of them is this contraption that has a mesh bag. You put fruit, ice or anything you want really into this bag and they can eat it without getting big chunks to choke on.

Abbey will demonstrate with some yummy watermelon - a cool summer treat (messy but fun!)

We just HAD to...

Sittin' Purdy

Aida has figured it out!! She can now sit all by her big girl self and we are so proud of her. Sure, she may wobble but she's got the idea. She balances her weight so she won't tip over. She loooooves sitting in her little pool on hot days and splashes away while Abbey watches and learns.

First Waskesiu Trip

We decided to take the girls on a mini vacation to Waskesiu. It is a destination that is very close to Chris's heart (as well as the entire Gibson clan). His Grandpa Gibson spend many summers up there with the family and had taken many, many Waskesiu photos. Chris misses him very much and loves to share his memories with us when we're up there. He wants the girls to know all fun he's had up there and pass on the memories. It was special to say the least.

We only stayed 2 nights but the weather was beautiful and it was so quiet as the tourists and cabin owners weren't up just yet. We saw many elk and deer and even saw a bear (Chris said it was the first time in about 10 years for him).
